The GS1 Global Forum is the global annual event to align the organisation’s strategy, inspire and strengthen the GS1 staff around the world. Over 800 participants representing over 80 countries worldwide. As the one of the only designers at GS1, I work closely with representatives from Asia Pacific to conceptualise and produce banners for the marketplace expo at the Global forum each year.
2019 was about showcasing our unique makeup as Asia Pacific. As a Global organisation we have an interesting mixture of culture, language and geographic location than most GS1's. We wanted to show strength in our diversity.
In 2020 we asked what GS1 meant to the participants. We are ‘One’ organisation, with a common mission, goals and aspirations and picture of the future - and we used our interactive booth to illustrate this. Participants were given cards to draw, write, express what GS1 means to them. At the end, a secret message was revealed.
